  1. Hi all!

Below is a lesson plan I am using for my NC Literature course using the literary map. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    NC Literary Map Project

The University of North Carolina Greensboro has a wonderful resource for your use: the literary map. To understand fully just how rich our state is in authors, settings, and characters, you will complete a research project using the map. The guidelines are outlined below:
    1. Log on to http://library.uncg.edu/dp/nclitmap/
    2. Click on each region; select an author based off their location (county, city/town, other location)
    3. Select an author: complete a biography on him/her, including his/her current location.
    4. Complete a list of his/her works, both fiction and non-fiction
    5. Discuss which of his/her works were set in NC, includes characters from NC, or was written in NC. How did the writer clearly depict the area? Find one quote or review about the author or his/her book(s).
    6. Click on the link for the included titles; include the publication date, a summary (2-3 paragraphs) of the title(s) listed.
    7. At the end of the project, you will have THREE separate authors, one from each region in North Carolina

Create a Powerpoint, Prezi, or PhotoStory of your three authors with the information above.
